We next take the 17.36 Newport Bus service 72 to Chepstow Bus Station arriving at 18.38 on Thursday.

Just enough time to catch the 1843 Newport Bus service X74 to Llanwern (the bus stop before Bloomery Circle on Glan Llyn Way) that arrives there at 1935 on Thursday.

That was the last bus from this stop and the only other one in range is an eight minute walk away at Halo Foods from where the next bus is the 21.32 Newport Bus service 5 to Magor, Rectory arriving at 21.50 on Thursday.

We may have time to visit the castle, you never know...

This seems to be the A3 because it looks to be considered an Abergavenny local service. Can't say I'd call it that myself, but ho hum!

Frustratingly we've just missed the last departure towards Cardiff and Swansea so we're left with either returning to Abergavenny or heading to Merthyr. To avoid doubling back we aim for the latter despite the wait and board the 2003 Stagecoach South Wales service T4 to Merthyr Tydfil (Bus Station), arriving there at 2034 on Friday.
