We exit the station and take the five minute walk to the bus stop on Huddersfield Road, conveniently called that as well on the massively long road also of the same name, where we board the 0907 Arriva Yorkshire Max service 203 to Beeston Hill (Dewsbury Road/Hunslet Hall Road), arriving there at 1010 on Saturday morning.

We next take the 10.21 Arriva Yorkshire service 200 to Heckmondwike Hub arriving at 11.44 on Saturday.

Mindful that an 8-minute minimum connection time applies at this station and just too late to catch the Yorkshire Coastliner 843 coach service from the stances outside the station, we reluctantly board the 1407 TransPennine Trains service to Chester-le-Street that arrives there at 1501 on Saturday afternoon.

I hope that a service by that train company does actually turn up to run this service, noting their motto..."Do not ask for truthful operational train service information, as a refusal often offends"
