The 309 stops at Bethnal Green tube station. The Overground station is about a 8 minute walk away from there (they're not the same station, contrary to popular belief).

Not being au fait with the London Underground, are there many same-named stations on there as National Rail stations that are similarly 8 minutes walk from each other, or is that example an unusual one?

We take the short walk to Brixton Railway Station and take the 19.20 Southeastern service to Orpington arriving at 19.57 on Friday.

We take the very short walk outside the station to the bus station where we depart at 2005 on London Central (for TfL) service 51. We alight at Welling (Station, Stop B) at 2042 on Friday.

Not quite as far away, both both Hammersmith and Edgware Road stations have seperate tube stations, but I believe they're not as far away from each other.

We enter the station and next board the 2111 Southeastern service 2U72 to London Victoria, arriving there at 2155 on Friday evening.

We next take the 08.00 Go Ahead London service 163 to Wimbledon alighting at Merton Park Tram Stop at 08.21 on Saturday.

The obvious move is to enter the tram stop, so we do this and board the London Trams tram at 0829. We alight at Croydon (Reeves Corner tram stop) at 0848 on Saturday.

We take the eight minute walk to Park Street and take the 09.04 Arriva London service 405 to Redhill Bus Station arriving at 09.47 on Saturday.

We enter the station and take the 11.32 GTR (Thameslink) service to Three Bridges arriving at 11.40 on Saturday.

We leave the railway station, but find there is not time allowed to catch the intended bus service at the adjacent bus stop, so we wait for the next one and there board the 1922 Stagecoach South service 69 to Middleton-on-Sea (the bus stop opposite Sea Lane on Middleton Road) that arrives there at 1940 on Saturday evening.

We now have to wait and take the 20.36 Stagecoach South service 600 to Chichester Bus Station arriving at 21.27 on Saturday.

We enter the railway station opposite and board the 2138 Southern service 1C60 to Portsmouth Harbour, arriving there at 2205 on Saturday evening.

Looks like we are stuck here overnight before we take the 07.25 SWR service to Southampton Central arriving at 07.40 on Sunday.

We exit the station and take the ten minute/0.5 mile walk to WestQuay, where we board the 0806 Bluestar service 19 to Thornhill (Fairfax Court), arriving there at 0827 on Sunday morning.

We walk (7 min / 0.3 mile) to the Moorhill Gardens stop where we board the first Bluestar service 3 of the day at 1002. we alight at Eastleigh Bus Station at 1055 on Sunday.

We take the nine minute walk to Eastleigh Railway Station and take the 11.26 SWR service to Portsmouth Harbour arriving at 12.20 on Sunday.
