@Class172 @transportphoto - please could you adjudicate here?

My reading of the rules was that we should keep the game moving effectively - dropping off at a rural point with a 3-4 hour wait only to have to board the same route again doesn't feel like it's in the spirit of the game. Also I'm sure we have re-boarded buses where similar situations have arisen ?
In the past we have waited for an entire weekend on certain occasions. Depends how you determine the spirit of the game. If we aren't careful we will never dare head out of "busy" urban areas just in case we have to wait a few hours. Some of the most interesting spells in my experience of the game have been out in "the sticks".

I've struck my posting out - but I'm not sure it's really in the spirit of the game to drop in the middle of nowhere with an extended wait for the next move, especially when it's boarding the same route we've arrived on - I'd get it if we were stopping somewhere that meant you could leave using a different route, but when it basically inserts a 3 hour stop only to have to leave on the same route, it does seem a bit pointless.

Happy to await the adjudication decision that you've requested.

Why don't we just board the 1431 Chambers service 374 to Bury St Edmunds (Bus Station), arriving there at 1503 on Friday afternoon??

Good evening all,

Thank you for amicably resolving and moving on. I guess there’s arguments for and against this either way.

My personal view is fairly liberal. Our imaginary person travelling around the country is just that: imaginary. Whether we end up waiting a weekend because we’ve missed the last bus on a Friday night and the next one out again isn’t until Monday morning… it doesn’t really matter as this imaginary person can’t starve/perish in the cold/etc.

The “rules” provide a structure and date back to the relaunch of the game from a much much stricter (unhealthy) version some may well remember. Taking a recent example of the disputed four minute connection at silly o’clock in the morning at Birmingham Digbeth - it seemed realistic so I let it pass… but there has to be a line somewhere.

The most important element is that each player is allowed to chose where the next move takes us - to middle of nowhere for a few hours or middle of city centre for a few mins. The fun is left for the the next person to workout where we go next!

It’s great to see a community whereby we are able to discuss these things between us and work out how to move on where needed. I can only thank you for this.

Hopefully this makes sense. Long may this imaginary journey continue - drop us a message if you’ve any questions or wish to discuss further :)

The minimum connection time at London Liverpool Street is fifteen minutes, so that unfortunately prevents the use of the 2312 service.

Well, that's not only the last bus of the day, but the last bus of the week as well since there are no Sunday services within 0.5 miles that I could find.

So, come Monday morning, cold, hungry and dejected we get on the first possible bus to get us out of here, which is the 0533 Stagecoach East Mids service to Worksop Bus Station arriving there at 0555 Monday morning, where we go in search of a cup of tea, bacon sandwich and a toilet........

Presumably that was service 25, I think we could have escaped slightly earlier, but it makes no real difference.

We'll continue on the 0620 Stagecoach East Midlands service 19 to Lindrick Common, Worksop Rd/Owday Lane arriving at 0629 on Monday morning.

Yes, it was the 25 - I couldn't see anything earlier, what had you spotted ?
