We take advantage of the overnight rule and walk 0.4 mile (8 minutes to the Loves Farm Loves Way bus stop on Cambridge Rd, where we board the 0604 Stagecoach East service 905.
We alight at Cambourne, De la Warr Way at 0620 on Saturday.
Stagecoach East's service 18 is our only option here, so we await the 0921 journey. We alight at Cambridge, Drummer St Bus Station at 0936 on Saturday.
I didn't realise how difficult it is to get close to Cambridge railway station...
We are too far away to walk to the railway station so all we can do here is board the 1559 Delaine Buses service 201 to Bourne (Bus Station), arriving there at 1623 on Saturday afternoon.
Taking the times on BusTimes as being a good guide for demand responsive routes, we leave at 1630 on LincsBus Spalding CallConnect service 16S, arriving at Spalding, Bus Station at approximately 1700 on Saturday.
We next board the 1705 Stagecoach East Midlands InterConnect service 505 to Kings Lynn (Transport Interchange), arriving there at 1835 on Saturday evening.
We next board the 2059 First Norfolk & Suffolk Network Norwich service 13A to Norwich (St Stephens Square), arriving there at 2122 on Saturday evening.
We take 10 minutes to walk the 0.5 mile to the railway station, where we board 1K97, Greater Anglia's 2252 service towards Cambridge, from which we alight at Ely at 2337 on Saturday.
Downham Market appears to have no Sunday bus service - makes you appreciate what you do have
We therefore take advantage of the overnight rule and leave on the first train of the morning, Great Northern's 1T15, from which we alight at Cambridge North at 0911 on Sunday.
We walk to the Allende Ave stop on Fifth Ave (5 min / 0.2 mile) where we await the 1246 Arriva Herts & Essex Green Line service 724.
We alight at Watford Junction station (stop 2) at 1459 on Sunday.
We will then hop on the 321 Arriva Beds and Bucks bus from St Albans St Peters St at 1700 to Luton Station Interchange arriving at 1733 on Sunday evening.
Still limited unfortunately to the St Pancras to Corby service, we instead exit the station and take the ten minute/0.5 mile walk to the bus interchange, where we board the 1952 Stagecoach Midlands Gold service X4 to Northampton (Bus Interchange), arriving there at 2056 on Sunday evening.
We will then walk for 12 minutes to Northampton Train Station from Northampton Bus Interchange, where we catch the 2127 West Midlands Railway to Milton Keynes Central, arriving at 2143.
