It is just a 2 minute walk to the Ferry terminal here at Woodside, so we saunter over to catch the 1220 ferry across the Mersey (operated by Mersey Ferries) to Liverpool (Pier Head Ferry Terminal) where we arrive at 1250 on Monday.

Seacombe terminal appears to be closed for major refurbishment work.

My arrival time at Salford Crescent was originally approx 2332 but I edited it to 2121.

I suggest we go with the 2211 arrival at Wigan, using Andy's routing but accepting his arrival of 0023 was based only on my error!

From Meols Cop we walk the 9 minutes (0.5 mile) to the Norwood Ave stop on Roe Lane. There we board the 2309 Arriva Merseyside service 49, alighting at Ainsdale Station (Stop B) at 2332 on Monday.

We board what appears to be one of the last trains of the day: MerseyRail’s 23:43 2S69 service towards Southport. We alight one stop down the line at Hillside at 23:46 on this Monday evening.

Aside from a local bus to Warrington town centre there isn't any other onward road transport here so we continue on the 0749 Northern service 2O91 to Trafford Park, arriving there at 0823 on Tuesday morning.
