The original Trans-Caspian Railway is a historic, 19th-century railway built by the Russian Empire across Central Asia, stretching from Turkmenbashi (formerly Krasnovodsk) on the Caspian Sea to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Today, it serves as the foundation for the modern Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (also known as the Middle Corridor).
