Had a day out yesterday chasing UK Railtours' Tower Gateway tour from London Paddington to Cwmbargoed and Tower Colliery.
The tour had originally meant to go to Penarth as well but that branch was scrapped to allow time to be made up after a late start from London.
My main goal for the day was a 66 at Penarth so with that plan scuppered, a new plan was formulated. In the end we went to Ystrad Mynach, Bedlinog, Cwmbargoed, Ystrad Mynach again, Caerphilly, Aberdare, Hirwaun, Aberdare again and finally Taffs Well.
