I didn't bother me, it took less than 3 seconds for me. The virus scan of the file took longer

Yeah, I got Project64 after Gizzy started talking about N64 emulation in chat a couple of weeks ago. It's amazing. Spend most of my time playing Goldeneye and Super Mario 64.

Goldeneye must be one of the best multi player games on the N64. So much fun.

The only icons that I have on my desktop here are:

• Aragorn (Renamed from "My computer")
• Network,
• Recycle Bin, and
• My Documents

Not the cleanest possible desktop of course (The cleanest would have no icons at all!) but certainly well organised IMO! :razz:

I'm the same Death, I quite like a clean desktop. I only have the bin, Google Chrome (my new browser of choice), Avantix Traveller and a link to a folder containg OpenOffice.

I've since found out you can put openoffice on your sidebar, so once I get my computer back, that'll be one less icon to worry about.

I'm the same Death, I quite like a clean desktop. I only have the bin, Google Chrome (my new browser of choice), Avantix Traveller and a link to a folder containg OpenOffice.

Mind ye, I'm going to hang fire for a while before I even consider using Google Chrome. If nothing else, I don't like that little bit in the T&Cs that basically says "By using Google Chrome, you agree that Google shall have a full and unrestricted licence to any and all content uploaded to the Internet via your Chrome browser"...Not only does that allow Google to steal full ownership rights from me in respect of any video I upload to YouTube, but it also means that Google can - If they wish - Take ownership of and use any kind of data that I'd post via Chrome...Including credit card numbers and site logins! hock::mad:
In my book, the browser would be better known as Google Spyware...

Although I'm running XP Pro here, I prefer to keep my taskbar over on the left hand side of the screen which gives so much more space for task buttons.
On top of that, I've recently discovered that it's possible to have an MSIE browser window displayed as a toolbar, meaning that I could create whatever system or interface I wish (Such as a news ticker or RSS reader) as a web application, and have it displayed in the task-bar in a similar way to some of Vista's widgets! 8)

Another way that I've found to keep the icons down - Though this might work for me as I've been a PC tinkerer since MS-DOS days - Is to know the names for all of your applications and make sure that they're all registered in Windows properly. Once that's done, launching an application is as simple as pressing [Windows key]+R, entering the name of the application, and hitting [Enter]. 8)

As a result of that technique; Even though my copy of Avantix is buried somewhere in the Start Menu tree, I can (And normally do) start Avantix simply by bashing in [Win key]+R, AVANTI~1.EXE, [Enter]...Much faster than trying to find the one specific icon on a cluttered desktop! :razz:
