A sad way for the Irish to receive the unenviable tag of "First Team Eliminated" was bad news for leader andrew bell, whose bizarre 1-1 prediction was the only one to not tip a Spanish victory and as such all other players gained at least two points on him. Most obvious was Chapeltom, who landed himself a perfect 10 for the day after two spot-on predictions in Group C, and he now sits third as a result (having leapt up from ninth in the process). More importantly though, newbie babs capitalised on Andrew's shortcomings for the day - he scored only one point in the Italy vs Croatia fixture - to leap to the top of the table. Amazingly however, Tom leads two other players on tie-break categories in the race for third place, with Ivo ahead of gnolife, who today became the final player to achieve a five-point haul after accurately calling a 4-0; this means that there are just four points separating the players who sit in positions three through ten. At the other end, bb21 remains rooted to the foot of the table - but at least he wasn't the last to manage a five-pointer.

We are now on 25 cards and 20 goals, which are two and one short of their respective first round results after two games less. This spells bad news for most players, but in particular bottom-placed bb21, who predicted those exact values for the entire round...

Indeed. As things stand a single five-pointer would take SS4 in 10th on to the podium hock:

The bonus points in the Quarter-Finals for the top four in this round could be invaluable. The way things have gone, whosoever should finish 1st (and probably 2nd) in this round looks pretty much safe for the semis.

Just a quick question (this doesn't bother me as I have submitted already) but doesn't all the games from tomorrow kick off at 7.45? If so then surely people have until 6.45 tomorrow to submit their predictions for the last round of group stages

I can't reasonably make such a change now, but I would be happy for this to be introduced come August - if it's permitted it becomes a two-pronged gambling technique which isn't really fair on anyone. Just keep a careful eye out for people who may accidentally miscount their totals, as Sonic did in Round 2.

My idea would be to go on the assumption that if the game is abandoned, and the game is replayed the scores submitted for the original game stand for the re scheduled game. You can hardly award points for game abandoned after 4 mins.

This is a different situation to that seen earlier in the competition when teams were threatened with abandonment due to fans' behaviour, in which case the results at that point would have been confirmed. Here, we are likely to see a replay tomorrow.

As long as a Replay is in the pipeline, we look forward to said Replay and use it as the basis of the result.

If a Replay is not staged the final result - 0-0 - is used (however unlikely).
