Sorry, I had to go to Macclesfield urgently and was not back to see the outcome of these discussions. I think that the problem arose owing to the juxtaposition of the two stations at Rice Lane (on the Kirkby line) and Walton (on the Ormskirk line). Whatever is the case, the leg from Rice Lane to Kirkdale is valid and to ensure that no confusion would occur, the next move would still have been onwards to Kirkdale, which happened. It was the following move onwards to Sandhills that confused matters, as I remembered posting that station earlier in the leg. I owe a very big apology to ole man for informing him that his posting had won the leg.

If, as you say, the second posting of Sandhiils is declared invalid, then the posting of Kirkdale, that was made after the posting of Rice Lane, appears to have been the last valid posting.....and all postings after this point are thus could be deemed to be invalid....It is not just the second posting of Sandhills, but the following start of a new leg and subsequent postings on that leg, plus any other postings, should now all be deemed invalid and the next posting would be the outward station posting from Kirkdale on the Ormskirk line, which should be made after this clarification posting. Again this is very unfair....so we should carry on from Town Green.

All subsequent posts to be declared invalid? Including all subsequent correct posts which have taken us onwards up the Ormskirk line?

Whoops... I clearly wasn't looking at the map when I posted that and assumed Burscough Junction was after Rufford! :oops:
Back to Ormskirk then.
