Incidentally, I am still not happy with the matter on the previous leg and I have made a further posting on that matter a couple of postings back on this thread.
Where did we go wrong?
Manchester Victoria to Eccles (on Man Vic-Liverpool)
VALID.
Eccles to Patricroft (on Man Vic-Liverpool)
VALID.
Patricroft to Newton-le-Willows (on Man Vic-Liverpool)
VALID.
Newton-le-Willows to St Helens Junction (change of train; now on Manchester Airport-Liverpool)
VALID. We were allowed to change trains, as we have been all through this quiz.
If that combination isn't valid, the following examples should also have been disallowed (all have been played):
All stops Reading-London Waterloo (direct services from Reading don't call at Richmond-Clapham Junction stations except a handful at Putney, nor do any call Queenstown Road);
All stops Crewe-Manchester Airport then fast to Piccadilly;
All stops Stoke-Macclesfield then fast to Stockport;
All stops Poole-Dorchester South only to then skip out Upwey;
All stops Tyseley-Henley-in-Arden then on the fast to Stratford-upon-Avon;
All stops Banbury-West Ruislip then jumping onto the Gerrards Cross-London Paddington service.
