On this one, Heswall.

I still dispute the Old Trafford Halt on the basis the spur has a less the weekly passenger service.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
2. You cannot use any freight lines, but you can use any line that has a passenger service at least weekly (not every 3rd Monday etc).

8. IN THE EVENT OF A WRONG ANSWER:

If a submission to the quiz is incorrect, but there have been no further posts, the author may edit their post.

If there have been further posts, either of two circumstances should occur;
i) The author states their position, thus making any posts after the original superfluous. The game is then continued by a different individual, starting from the station before the incorrect submission.
ii) Another individual states their suspicion, which is then confirmed by the OP. Anyone is then welcome to continue the game, again starting from the station before the incorrect submission.

If an individual states that there is a mistake when there is not, their post is invalid, and another poster may continue as normal.

The above parts of the rules need to be looked at, in order that a decision is correctly reached.

Looks like my win has just been declared invalid. <(
Also looks like someone else needs to lead off from Oxford Road, according to the rules...

'Fraid Piccadilly's gone (post #3340)

Guide Bridge-Stalybridge I don't see as a parly as there is a freqeunt service over the line. It is an infrequent service bonus though as it is the only such train to actually call at Guide Bridge.

Still counts as parliamentary by my understanding. If the Caley sleeper can count as a "long wait" bonus for going from Motherwell to Carstairs, even though there is a very frequent service along that line, then by the same token Guide Bridge to Stalybridge would have to count as parliamentary surely. Plenty of other long-wait examples we've had as well...

Still got the Liverpool and ATW services as options, both of which are non-stop through Deansgate.

For a previous usage of Manchester United F.C. Halt - see post #3058.

I have to be out for a bit now - I'll be back later in the evening.

Just a small clarification on the whole Man United Halt idea.

As it has an infrequent service, (sometimes more than weekly) it is not valid. However, points claimed before this post for it will still be valid.

From now, Manchester United halt is not valid.

Sorry about the whole MUF thing; I didn't realise that. I mean, what else has a less than weekly service? It's not the sort of thing that would obviously spring to mind.

Sorry, everybody, but Crewe was already taken (post #3326)! Therefore everything after #3380 is not valid.
Back to Warrington Bank Quay, with Lampshade the most recent poster.

I shall take us instead to Runcorn East.
