Response: Not all trains from Arnside call at Silverdale before going to Carnforth - according to information I have found. For Arnside, on the Cumbria-Manchester Airport route, next station is listed as Carnforth or Silverdale, indicating some services skip Silverdale.

It seems a bit odd that that is there as only one train a week (in this direction, at least) skips Silverdale in the current timetable, but the move is valid on the Sundays Only 0940 from Arnside, so that means Silverdale is a win for @Xenophon PCDGS
