RED SECTION UPDATE

LIVERPOOL LIME STREET CLOSURE

The next phase of the Liverpool Lime Street modernisation starts on Monday 11/06/18, and it will run until Sunday 13th July 2018.

This will see a partial re-opening of the station, but with a very restricted train service. Liverpool Lime Street is served by several operators, each with their own stopping pattern on separate routes and each of which has put in place different plans during the closure. Unfortunately, that makes it unusually complicated as far as we are concerned here, as it means that some moves are currently valid, but others aren't. I will try to keep it as simple as possible!

From Monday 11/06/18 until Sunday 13/07/18:

  • Liverpool South Parkway to Edge Hill is closed and no trains will run. West Allerton and Mossley Hill stations are also closed. All Virgin, London North Western and East Midlands trains will run to/from Liverpool South Parkway
  • A train service will operate between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan North Western/Manchester Victoria, calling at all stations en route. Please note that there are no TransPennine Express services west of Manchester Victoria, and that no trains currently omit any of the stations on this route.

Merseyrail services are unaffected and will continue to run throughout the works at Liverpool Lime Street.

This is in addition to the ongoing closure between Aberdeen and Dyce.

The official statement regarding the withdrawal of trains between Windermere and Oxenholme Lake District is that this will only last for an initial two weeks. Until such a time as this changes, the Windermere branch remains valid.

As always, details of closures are listed in the Red Section in the second post on page one of the thread.

It appears that as both Stevenage and Hitchin have already been played, are there any unusual direct non-stop services from Knebworth?
I can't find anything to anywhere other than Stevenage, Hitchin and Welwyn North.

Assuming Knebworth was a win, the next round will begin at Leeds
Sorry!
