This quiz is supposed to be self-governing. It is down to individual players to check not just their own moves but those posted by others immediately before. The adjudicators are there to provide official rulings when an agreement cannot be reached immediately and amicably. It is not the job of adjudicators to supervise the thread and check the validity of each move before the next player posts. There is no reasonable expectation of a permanent adjudicator presence on the Forum, and nor should it need one. (And, incidentally, given that virtually all of my 'Forum time' is currently being given over to this one thread, frankly I resent the suggestion that I am not spending enough time online. May I point out what time I posted the recent General Notes and Advice post.)

As I update the scores I do what I expect every other player to do as they go along: Check the validity of each move. As I keep pointing out, the failure of individual players to do that basic check is resulting in legs being void and scoring no points. If players just assume that the preceeding move is valid, or don't properly check their own move, there is a very real chance that player is doing him or herself out of points. Checking the validity of each move is the collective reponsibility of everyone.

As scorer, when I keep seeing this happen, all that I can do is try and give some guidance in the forlorn hope that players take note and heed the advice. I do so in the hope that the number of mistakes reduces as a result. (Plus of course it is entirely possible that I have made a mistake myself and missed something!)

On that subject, Tuesday's leg that ended at #127562 (East Kilbride) was void. Barrhead to Kennishead is not a valid move.

Frankly, I resent the suggestion that I was somehow accusing you of not doing enough? I never did such a thing.

There are two sides to every coin. You admit that you can make mistakes - well, we ourselves can make mistakes. We miss things. We're not robots. We're human beings.

We will endeavour to check our moves more in the future I'm sure.

The two points of my post were not connected; they were replying to different aspects of yours.

You are attacking me seemingly for a throwaway comment that I made: that we only seem to have one adjudicator online, and at the very least that is difficult for @A Challenge as it means that he has to make all the decisions - especially the other day, when he had to adjudicate his own move and felt conflicted about doing so.

There was no implied criticism in that statement, so don't go reading things into it.
