Invershin

Fun fact: the Shin Viaduct links Invershin with Culrain. This is one of the shortest railway journeys in the UK that one can possibly make between two stations; traditionally, Culrain was in Ross-shire while Invershin lay in Sutherland, so the railway provided a crucial link between the two regions, especially as it provided the only bridge over the Kyle of Sutherland.

Hold on, we started at Gospel Oak, not Golspie

I won the last leg and set the new one to start at Brora. I beat you to Moorgate, as previously stated, and we are continuing from Lairg.

Tain

Scotrail do have a policy of sticking up Gaelic signs in places even where the name is derived from Old Norse. In Gaelic, Tain is 'Baile Dhubhthaich'. It may seem like a bit of a mouthful, but you can just say bella-hooey.

And its only four letters in English

Fearn
'Baile' means town, and 'Dhubhthaich' refers to St Duthus. Basically it's St Duthus' Town. Nobody knows where 'Tain' itself comes from.

Invergordon, where the station is covered in murals depicting the Seaforth regiment.

Dingwall, the county town with two castles, one ruined, both linked by an abandoned, nowadays-collapsed underground passage. It's also the home of Ross County FC, the northernmost top-tier football team in the UK.
