Quiz Rules

Rule 8. IN THE EVENT OF A WRONG ANSWER:

If a submission to the quiz is incorrect, but there have been no further posts, the author may edit their post, so long as the original is shown as crossed out. After striking through an incorrect entry, you must use reply rather than edit to post your new entry. This aims to prevent confusion to allow for smooth proceedings.

If there have been further posts, either of two circumstances should occur;
i) The author states their position, thus making any posts after the original superfluous. The original incorrect answer(s) should be crossed out. The game is then continued by a different individual, starting from the station before the incorrect submission.
ii) Another individual states their suspicion, which is then confirmed by another player. Anyone is then welcome to continue the game, again starting from the station before the incorrect submission. Again, the incorrect answer should be crossed out.

If you are unable to cross the answer out, due to reasons beyond your control, you should only edit to a statement giving an acceptable reason. You should not make another posting until another person has posted.

For the sake of new contestants, the above is an extract from the rules of this quiz

GENERAL INFORMATION

RED SECTION UPDATE

Please note that starting from today, engineering work on Merseyrail's Loop Line will result in a series of long term closures until mid-June.

Therefore, the following may be considered 'out-of-bounds' for the purposes of this quiz:
  • Birkenhead North - James Street (closed until 12th February 2017)
  • Birkenhead Central - James Street (closed until 12th February 2017)
  • James Street - Moorfields - Liverpool Lime Street - Liverpool Central - James Street (closed until 12th February 2017)
This is in addition to the current ongoing closures, namely:

  • Armathwaite to Carlisle (closed until 31st March 2017)
  • Gospel Oak to Barking (closed until February 2017)

The Red Section (currently at the bottom of the first post) will be updated shortly to reflect this.

I believe I can now start a new leg, as Oakham is invalid as it has already been played on this leg, as I said in the winning post.
