The train from Clifton doesn't call at Kearsley - I used it tonight.

Indeed so. In the new timetable, that covers the Huddersfield to Wigan Wallgate service, the 1822 "Parliamentary" train from Clifton now omits Kearsley and its next stop is that of Farnworth

However, ir must be noted that when travelling in the opposite direction, the early morning "Parliamentary" train (Blackburn to Manchester Victoria still call at all three stops in that area:-
Farnworth
Kearsley
Clifton
