Ah - the perils of maps! (I've fallen into that trap many a time!) The trains that miss Castleford don't stop at Woodlesford - they run fast to Leeds.

You will find that trains operate round that curve, but as far as I can see none of them stop at Woodlesford, and only a couple at Normanton. The stoppers go via Cas.

As I say, I may have missed one so in accordance with rule 8 I would appreciate it if somebody could check whether my suspicions are correct.

That line exists for the Northern Fast Leeds - Wakefield - Barnsley - Sheffield, not for the local stopper.

Possible however is to go from Normanton to Leeds directly, with the 1L72 service at 06:33.
