Unless we're allowing the OSI to the Piccadilly Line, the next leg is to start at the one and only home of the Robins. That's Altrincham to those of you that don't do non-league football

I have a few questions regarding this:
1) If the last post on the 30th of April is on LT metals, and there is no move using a BR service (eg if at 23:59 on the 30th of April a contestant plays Canons Park), what happens to that round. Is it:
a) abandoned,
b) won by the player playing Canons Park
c) carried on on LT metals, using the first available interchange to BR?

2) Are the Bakerloo and Met stations at Edgware Road to be considered separate stations? Similarly the District and Met stations at Hammersmith.

3) What interchanges are considered valid at Kings Cross / St. Pancras. In normal game play, they have always been treated as separate stations, but as they both have the same Underground station as part of the complex (ie it is possible to transfer from St Pancras BR to Kings Cross St. Pancras LU without the aid of a walk between stations, as it is from Kings Cross BR). By an extension of this logic, if transfer between BR and LUL is permitted at this station, is transfer between say the ECML and MML permitted (an example sequence of moves would be:
Finsbury Park
Kings X St Pancras complex
Kentish Town)?

Thanks for any adjudication, I think it best to ask the question now rather than problems breaking out during gameplay.
1) Whilst, to avoid the problem entirely we could just say don't go there on that evening, I would say the best approach would be to allow a 'grace period,' so that, after midnight has past, the current leg may be allowed to continue in whatever way. Once that leg has finished, then we revert to the normal rules.

2) In personal opinion I would say the latter qualifies as a single station, so for argument's sake, movement is allowed

3) All possible movements are allowed, but please state if you are to walk between the two stations.

Hope this clears matters up for you.

Here.

I can't say I'm too impressed with the idea that you know better than TfL, but I've got no choice but to accept it. In future though, if you're going to do something like this to override a rule, specifically rule 3 in this case, can it please be put in the opening post, not in an obscure post 1000-odd pages in.

I have not suggested at any point that I know better than TfL; that should not have any effect on what is posted. A decision has to be made on where to draw the lines regarding rules and queries that have been raised. Furthermore, the notes for this post were linked in the "red section" of the initial post.

An observation on the latest leg and the postings made since it started.

In the "RED SECTION" of the very first posting of this quiz is where the information of guidance for contestants regarding lines that currently are embargoed on this particular quiz owing to real-time engineering matters that extend outside the time period parameters of the section of the rules.

The information that a TfL leg would be allowed that would also make use of the London Underground, the Dockland Light Railway and the Tramlink, in addition to the normal railway stations and that this special dispensation would run until midnight on 30th April 2014 was contained in that same "RED SECTION" that is referred to above. This entry regarding this matter was made by one of the forum quizmasters.

DanTrainMan185 who is a contestant of long standing made reference during the previous leg that regular contestants do not normally make reference to items that are shown in the "RED SECTION" of the very first posting of this quiz. So not only new contestants, but contestants of long-standing who make occasional visits to this quiz can be said to be unaware of the existence of the "RED SECTION".

I feel that I am better qualified than any other contestant to make observations on this current hiatus that has occurred, as out of the 58,381 postings that have been made on this particular quiz, I am the leading poster, having made 13,841 of these postings, equating to 23.7% of the postings made. I helped adtrainz to relaunch this quiz in October 2011 from its earlier "beta" version called Sugar Loaf. I am well aware that such a rule relaxation to allow the use of London Underground stations was made in the Christmas period of 2011, but at that point of time, the quiz was only two months old and that decision at that time was taken to allow a once-only leg because the Christmas festive season was upon us. Howsoever, the month of May 2014 is now long past that point of time and the fact that 58,381 postings have been made shows that the interest in this particular quiz has not at all dissipated during that time.

I did make my views known on the matter at the time of the current leg proposal and indeed, I have suffered much heart-searching on the implications of how this new special leg relaxation would be received. This new leg which incorporates the new relaxation was only commenced upon a matter of a few minutes before the stated end-time-period allowed for the commencement and as such, I feel that what has indeed actually come to pass, based upon posting made by contestants since that time, has indeed borne out my earlier stated worries.

We are now in the time period which is outside the time-period-parameters laid down for the allowance of the relaxation of the rules and since this new leg, commenced as it did only minutes prior to the allowance of launching such a new leg, with nothing but what seems to be confusion amongst contestants, some of which have expressed their own views upon this matter and one can only but surmise that all is not is euphemistically termed "sweetness and light" on this particular quiz at the current point in time.

Since there has been no progress on the leg from last night, and the time period for the relaxed rules has now passed, I suggest it would be appropriate for a new leg to be started (such that normal rules now apply).

I also note that one of the entries in the red section has reached its expiration date. Could someone please verify the validity of this information, since I am not able to do so currently.

May I refer you to the Infrastructure and Stations forum and to the thread titled "Pont Briwet to be closed to trains until 2015", the time matter of the Barmouth to Harlech line section reopening is one that has had a number of very recent postings on that very matter from forum members made upon it.

As the leg winner of the previous normal rule leg, it will be your honour to launch such a new leg that runs again in accordance with the normal rules of the quiz.

We shall commence at Glasgow Central, a station that I will be using in a couple of months, and is miles away from London. ;)
