Amendments have been made to Rule 1:

Temporary disruptions, such as landslips or flooding, should be ignored unless the disruption period exceeds one month.

In the event of long-term engineering works, these should be ignored unless they span a timetable period and are noted in the National Rail Timetable. Station closures less than a month long should also be ignored.

As ever, these come into effect after the current leg is completed.

With regards to this new adjudication, there are two cases of current Network Rail engineering works that do span a timetable period:-

1)....Holme Tunnel on the Copy Pit line. Saturday, 9th November 2013 to Friday, 28th March 2014.

2)....Pont Briwet bridge on the Cambrian Coast line. A date of 2015 is the current official view on the new bridge opening.

To add to this, the current 'temporary disruption' will last for more than one month:
Ockley landslip, reported 26th December, expected to be repaired by early February, thus Horsham-Dorking is still out of bounds until reopening.

The Carlisle-Workington and Isle of Wight closures are currently expected to last less than a month, so are out of bonds for this leg only, after which the new ruling comes into force.

I am a little unsure as to the position with Machynlleth-Harlech, does anybody know whether this is expected to last more than a month? Clearly the line north of Harlech is out of bounds for a good while yet, as per Paul's posting.
