I understand route learning is in progress, but at present it is unclear as to what extent a service will be provided.

There is a rail-replacement bus service running from Scunthorpe in the Althorpe direction at the present time, so I understand.
I seem to recall that the clarification from Adtrainz for this, and other similar situations was that for unplanned works, we should proceed as per normal timetable as it would be difficult to keep track of matters otherwise.

Temporary disruptions, such as landslips or flooding, should be ignored unless the scheduled service becomes indefinitely suspended (until further notice).

The word "temporary" and the phrase "until further notice" in this extract from the quiz rules are something of a moot point, from what Network Rail's latest press release has to say on this matter.
