So you've not only deleted a valid move, you've not done it as the rules require (i.e. by striking-through)? <(<(<(<(<(

I'm claiming the victory on this leg <D

Well this is annoying.

I don't know how to do a strike-thru. I'm sorry :( Bad Adam.

Fairly dos, just wanted to check.

Are we still going Re: Sprinterman error?

I think we can make a case for taking it back to Barnham on the grounds that the entry was deleted (which players are not allowed to do on this game) rather than struck-through, or a note left on the post explaining the position.

Correct.

And now Bognor Regis.

Again, Barnham from Littlehampton scores a long-wait.

What about #30909? :p

So to get this clear, you're claiming a win with a 'Deleted 'rather than Barham posted on 30898 between your Littlehampton and your Bognor? I just want to ensure that everything is clear to whoever tots up the points...

No, I'm claiming a win for my re-posting of Bognor Regis directly after you posted Barnham.

My point was that I had gone to Barnham AFTER the original posting of Bognor (30899), working on Bognor as the last posting, not the Littlehampton one.

No because, i posted after he posted Barnham, he was merely enquiring about post #30900, which was ok, there for, my post #30901 was also valid?

It seems this is in a bit of a mess at the moment. Hopefully clagmonster or Paul can come up with a resolution next time one of them is around.

Hopefully clagmonster or Paul can come up with a resolution next time one of them is around.

I have been away most of the evening (and will be at North Manchester General Hospital for much of Wednesday). I have read backwards on matters since my last participation and would ask that this quiz is deemed to be ON HOLD.

I have sent a PM to clagmonster (who like me, has missed much of this evening), to request that he views the leg postings that have led to the current debate and asks that he makes an adjudication upon this matter. As it falls upon him to score each leg, it is only courtesy that he makes the final ruling on this matter.

Just for the sake of good order, the current leg started at Norbury on posting # 30851.

Evening all,
I have just been through last nights happenings, and I think that regardless of which occasion he did it, Robinson did win at Bognor (there are two possible points at which this could have happened - either we take the deleted Barnham as valid in which case he won from there, or the deleted Barnham does not exist, in which case his first Bognor was invalid, in which case he won after Buttsy posted Barnham. I hope that makes sense, it is difficult to work concisely. We are therefore currently at Livingstone North as per Robinson's wishes, so I shall move us on to Uphall.

May I draw you attention to the rules on wrong answers and corrections / deletions thereof:
8. IN THE EVENT OF A WRONG ANSWER:

If a submission to the quiz is incorrect, but there have been no further posts, the author may edit their post, so long as the original is shown as crossed out. After striking through an incorect entry, you mustuse reply rather than edit to post your new entry. This aims to prevent confusion to allow for smooth proceedings.

If there have been further posts, either of two circumstances should occur;
i) The author states their position, thus making any posts after the original superfluous. The original incorrect answer should be crossed out. The game is then continued by a different individual, starting from the station before the incorrect submission.
ii) Another individual states their suspicion, which is then confirmed by another player. Anyone is then welcome to continue the game, again starting from the station before the incorrect submission. Again, the incorrect answer should be crossed out.

If you are unable to cross the answer out, due to reasons beyond your control, you should only edit to a statement giving an acceptable reason. You should not make another posting until another person has posted.

If the post is edited, then it will be assumed that the entry has been changed, unless a clear reason is posted in the... err... reason box.

Any entry that has been edited or deleted without good reason will lose 10 points from that leg.

Duplicate posts (Castle Cary...and Castle Cary) are not affected by this amendment.

It is not possible to have negative points, so if this occurs the value will default to zero.

This game is all about skill, routeing, and stopping other players from reaching the end of any lines!

A "leg" is the journey from a starting station to when an end station is reached.
In this case, I feel the 10 point penalty will have to be enforced for the unexplained deletion.

Thanks for the clarification - although I guess I didn't actually win by much in the end after the penalty was applied...
