Last time I looked the Sunday service from Eccles ran to Piccadilly - however they were all non-stop to Oxford Road.

Yes, you see the point that I was making, as this very query surfaced on this quiz a few months ago. Although logically seeming to be possible and quite a useful looking journey, it is not possible to make a direct Eccles to Deansgate heavy rail journey, but the Eccles Metrolink station does afford a regular service to the Deansgate-Castlefield (formerly G-MEX) Metrolink station.
