Ooh, we seem to have an editing issue again.

I did not see Paul's edit when I posted Driffield, though I can't be certain it wasn't there. Where do we go from here?

I posted Beverly before Paul though as the double post prevention system was activated. Had it not been then Beverly would be below Paul's post. I then edited again to strike Cottingham.

My Driffield was posted at 19:27, a post I would not have made had I seen your edit. However, I am prepared to give you the benifit of the doubt and allow you the points.

Where to next?

I clearly posted Beverly before Paul though as the double post prevention system was activated.
I don't doubt that. The issue is the order of Paul changing his post from Beverley to Arram and me posting Driffield.

I think it would be best if after you strike through an incorect entry, you use reply rather than edit to post your new station. That way if someone posts before you there will be no confusion over who was first.

I have never have had the truthfulness of any posting or statement ever queried before on Railforums UK....nor will I ever indulge in such untruthfullness.

I have gone to the trouble of making a posting to help everyone which showed the time of postings and edits.....I can do no more than this.

I am withdrawing from this quiz until further notice, as it was only a few days ago when gnolife and I were in a similar situation, when the toss of a coin by the adjudicator settled matters.

I suggest that you both carry on with the quiz from that posting of Driffield

I am not questioning the fact that I made an edit at 1927. It's just that the was to strike out Cottingham which I did after I had posted Beverly which is where the 1927 you are referring to is from. I used reply to post Beverly and the double post prevention system edited the post. If another person had posted since then Beverly would have been below their post.

I appologies for any offence I may have unwittingly caused, I did not intend to question your honesty.

You state that you edited from Beverley to Arram at 19:27. That is something that I do not dispute, nor is it something that I believe to be outside the rules.
Also at 19:27 I posted Driffield, what I was attempting to get to the bottom of was the order in which the two events happened, separated only by seconds, much like the Duddestone/Wilnecote incident recently.

I do, however, agree with Zoe that a change to the rules would be a good idea to prevent such confusion happening in the future.

I do hope that you see fit to return to the game.

The feeling that the veracity of my statement was being questioned is not something that I look upon kindly. I am "one of the old school" in the belief of truthfulness at all times.

When I first joined the forum. my signature used to state:-
The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth

I only changed it to my "cynical" signature as a result of certain postings made in August and September 2011.

Where is the current situation on the quiz leg that was queried?

I only said that I was willing to retire from this quiz, is that as a lady member was currently playing, it would have been the "gentlemanly" thing for me to have done so.

The confuion was over the fact that my edit said 1927. I did indeed make an edit at this time but the forum system only shows the last edit and not the time of when Beverly was posted.
