These days yes, but then there is no parcels traffic these days. I think going back to the days of parcels trains, there were no freights faster than a class 4, so I'm not sure there has ever been any need for a distinction.

Infrequent service, only the 06:00 Carnoustie-Dundee does these intermediates.
