Using the Caley sleeper? I don't think it is valid because the train also sets down at Edinburgh Waverley unlike the Averdeen and Inverness portions. If it is valid it is a parliamentary bonus though.

I didn't realize the stop at Edinburgh was public. Edinburgh Waverly.

Indeed. The seated portion is detached at Waverley and is used as a normal day train.
