Watch how you spell both Pollokshields and Pollokshaws...no "c" before the "k"....

Pollockshields does have a 'c', unless Mr Baker has made a mistake. Pollokshaws does not though.

I take it by this you are referring to S.K.Baker connected with the 12th edition of Rail Atlas Great Britain and Ireland, of which I have a copy.

Look at the expanded Glasgow area view on page 82 where you will find a definition of all stations just shown as a letter on the map, where you will find the following:-
1)...Pollokshields East
5)...Pollokshields West

Therefore Pollokshields is shown twice with the correct spelling.

I have also looked at the index on page 118 and both the east and west railway stations of both Pollokshaws and Pollokshields are spelt correctly.

I have the 9th edition, which seemingly has the wrong spelling in both cases on page 82. However the index doesn't have the 'c'. Thanks for the heads up.
