Regarding the rule that starting terminus stations must have multiple routes out, is that physical routes, or multiple available stations? E.g. After London Waterloo, the route does not physically split until Clapham Junction, but there are multiple stations to choose from, e.g. Vauxhall, Clapham, Surbiton, Woking etc. Would Waterloo therefore be a valid choice?

It had been used by others in the past, but that was the other way. I don't know how to check two stations further apart on RTT, only adjacent ones, as services calling at stations between appear making it hard to check.
EDIT: Done some digging, and I think it was wrong, so I have crossed it out.

To clarify:
Waterloo would be valid as it has two different lines (Windsor and South Western Main).
For a terminus station that has only one line and only one route out (for example, London Cannon Street), then it won't be valid. If in doubt, pick another station.
