Hmmm, yes, it really isn't the most accurate thing in the world, is it? I'm not sure if the Aldwych station bug has been fixed yet either (y'know, that one hasn't been open for a bit either but is also shown as a publicly-accessible station!).

For those who'll use this as a Google>Apple argument, I should point out that until last year Google Maps showed the long-dismantled Fallowfields line as open.

And Google Maps has in the past been very inaccurate in its labelling and when it comes to searching for railway stations; see two from RailUK passim:

For the record, I am not particularly "pro-Google-Maps" - it's just that Apple Maps do have some amusing but also potentially quite confusing inaccuracies (too).

The Apple vs Google debate covers many fields of technology, ethics and law, and as a trained programmer and someone with an interest in software design and practice (note to those dealing with or interested in railway timetabling and running data: not this at the mo), I do not feel my opinions and thoughts can be adequately expressed here (partly as it's not a terribly relevant place to do so!), so I will not attempt to state them. The same goes for hardware, although I am less interested in this from a professional point of view at this present time (just the way it goes!).

Yeah, they fixed a lot of the problems when they switched to showing individual tracks (and then created a bunch of new problems, naturally).

On my iPad, apple maps is rather poor. My local metrolink station doesn't exist (stretford) and various others don't either. These include Dane Roas and Brooklands! Not very good from apple

How about a Google -> Apple -> OSM debate?

I find OSM more up-to-date but there are some gaps occasionally, and it even shows bus routes as well as platform numbers at Waterloo and Euston.

I do tend to use Google maps most of the time though, but OSM is very handy to have pre loaded on the phone when there's no signal.

True but TBH I can't be faffed with messing around with the track logs on my GPS and as such I try not to complain about it.

You could just do what I do and draw it yourself onto the website. The UI takes a bit of getting used to (and you will inevitably accidentally turn the M3 into a circle several times :P) but it's generally speaking a simpler way of fixing minor things.

No I've only got a 4S so I'm on 3G

Some Virgin Mobile ones have switched too (in error), being as Virgin used T-Mobile's masts.

The changeover to ee is being done 1 mast at a time, mine flips between ee and T-Mobile display depending where I am
