Thanks. If the North British Railway had had their way, that line would have been extended to Inverness....and would possibly still have been open to this day. Unfortunately the Highland Railway - and some wealthy Highland landowners, who were probably HR shareholders - had other ideas and were determined to use all the powers available to them - including Parliamentary ones - to defend their bastion in the North.Correct.
