If it's any help to anyone, the current clues are:

Inbetween 2 level crossings

All passenger services are formed of 1 class of DMU.

From these clues, I have to guess Rye, though I'm unsure if the box is still in use.

It is Rye and the signal box is still operational control of the single lines being by tokenless block to Ashford IECC (workstation 3) at Appledore and Hastings at Ore.
