That last clue would seem to be Milngavie, being the start of the West Highland Way. If correct open floor.

I think Hadfield could also fit the bill - the end of the Hadfield/Glossop line is a triangle, with the Longdendale/Trans Pennine Trail close by.

Milngavie is correct.

(Departures on the Argyle line go to Motherwell/Cumbernauld via Hamilton; arrivals are from Larkhall.)
