Clue 4: Precisely 1 international border is crossed by some of the passing services during normal operation. At some point since privatisation, services also passed through this station en route to a different international border.

Clue 4:
All trains serving this station are class 2 local stoppers. No passenger trains are booked to pass without stopping.

Clue 5:
This station was recently refurbished in conjunction with a fairly major sporting event.

Rutherglen? Probably wasn't refurbished in conjunction with a sporting event, but I'm pretty stuffed for ideas otherwise...

Dalmarnock is the answer sought.

Clue 1:
This station is north of Woking.

Dalmarnock is the answer sought.

In that case clue 4 was a dud, since the 2tph from Dalmuir to Larkhall on Mondays-Saturdays are booked to pass without stopping, as are the various peak-time Lanark expresses. There's also a late start and early finish on Sundays.

As I have inadvertently provided a dud clue, I feel it is only fair to retract the current clue and to provide an open floor, with first refusal to Robinson as the player led up the garden path as it were.

I think there is a precedent for finishing a round when it has already started, even if the previous round is found to be a dud afterwards...

If clagmonster doesn't want it then open floor, as I'll be unavailable most of today.

OK, so no one else was available yesterday either? Let's pick this up then...

Clue 1: This station is south of Carlisle.
