I don't think either Heworth or Manors fit all the clues. Heworth doesn't fit clue 4, and Manors doesn't fit clue 5.

The answer was Dinsdale, which is operated and served by Northern Rail only, but sees a First Transpennine Express train between Darlington and Middlesbrough pass through some mornings. In a typical week Dinsdale has 19 services to Newcastle Central (1 SSuX,2 SuX,2 SuO) but only 4 services from Newcastle Central (1 SSu, 2 SuO).

Can you define single line (as used in clue number 2) please - do you mean single track, such as can be found on lines like Oxenholme - Windermere, or a single route, for example if I tried to submit, say, Disley as an answer, would it be deemed valid (just considering clue 2)?

Noting the way that clue number 3 is phrased, Perranwell? My justification for this is that Penryn has that funny little passing loop, but both platforms of the station are on the same line, then Penmere is the second station. Also, at no point does he state that only the next two stations are single line, hence, no need to consider the Falmouth stations.
