Question. When a round is terminated in this way, do any penalty points (excluding the one for an incorrect clue) that have been picked up get written off as well?

I didn't think anyone was bothering with points any more...

Historical data suggests they still apply. There is nothing in the Rules (which need updating because I never got round to it ) to suggest otherwise.

The awnser was Godley, I used wikipedia for my quick research for things to ask, and it stated that trains terminate at Glossop and Hadfield, so I took this to mean two seperate termini to the east, however upon checking national rail enquiries, I found they run from Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Piccadilly

Chinley has services by East Midlands, Northern and TransPennine Express.

As for Trainfan344's Godley, the Hadfield line is odd with its services.
Morning peak trains go Dinting - Hadfield - Glossop - Dinting (so circular)
Daytime trains do Dinting - Glossop - Hadfield - Glossop - Dinting
Evening peak trains do Dinting - Glossop - Hadfield - Dinting (again, circular)
It then reverts to the daytime service pattern, except for the last train that does Dinting - Hadfield - Glossop, then terminates and runs ECS to Longsight TMD.

Advice: Unless very familiar with the Glossop/Hadfield line, avoid giving clues relating to termini at the eastern end of the route. gnolife should be able to pull it off as he lives only 10 miles away and is a regular user of trains in Greater Manchester; however, even I wouldn't try anything further than "This line has an irregular terminating pattern to the East" or "This line could be argued as having multiple termini to the East" - and I've used the line end to end before now.
