Yes I do. I think I have just volunteered myself for a dud clue penalty. Whilst we're on pedantry, I am looking for the positive square root, I do not expect to find a station with a negative number of tiers, or indeed a negative number of platforms and a complex number of tiers.

I can't think of the last time I stood on a platform 3i

As for the answer, I can't think of anything that fits - Maybe its because the only stations I can think of offhand with multiple tiers are Rugeley TV, Lichfield TV, Tamworth and Smethwick GB, all of which I already know can't fit the answer

Yes, you seem to have the hang of it. If the station was just called Bescot, or the ground the Bescot Tin Shed or something like that, then one word in common would have sufficed.
