Not Derby. I knew very well you would suggest it though!

Clue 4: All services from this station visit the main station in at least one of the three major urban areas in the north-east (Newcastle/Sunderland/Teesside).

The answer I sought was Nunthorpe.

Clue 1: This station has at least one letter in its name that has a "tail" when written in small case.

I have to be honest, that was a pretty good guess! Clue 3 is therefore different to what I had intended (partly because I have to go out soon anyway).

Clue 3: This station is in Essex (or Southend/Thurrock before anyone tries being pedantic ;)).

I can only think of three that fit now...

This station's name does not consist of the word "Derby" followed by the word "Road".
