In the game which is you learn something every day, it turns out the station which is 7 miles from the centre of Birmingham isn't in it's PTE area but one which is 10 miles further out is. Remind me if I ever have to drive to that area and then get a train into the centre never visit Coleshill or Water Orton, but Coventry is fine.

Very good guess - but sadly not a correct one
4 - This station is only served by a "parliamentary" service

I think clue 4 narrows it to two stations, I am probably going to guess the wrong one.

Teeside Airport?

Coombe Junction Halt I think, as it is the Coombe Junction Halt Station (or No 1 Ground Frame to Looe) and the Coombe to Moorswater Section

These are both excellent guesses I hasten to add; I genuinely didn't think of these two
However....
Clue 5 - Open water can be clearly seen from this station

Not sure if I'm allowed to tell you this; but one of you is close
-----------------------
EDIT - OK; I think I've killed this one stone dead - apologies
RJ21; you were very close; the answer I sought was Balmossie
Open floor...

What are the chances of that!

Correct answer after 1 clue!

Your floor!
That is just so unlikely, and among any station in England!

useless fact: The City of Berwick-upon-tweed has been at war for the most time of any part of the UK!!

So my pick the last station in England worked for once.

Moving on, Clue 1: This station, like the last, is in England.
