I believe the Fat Controller has called a meeting of all the engines later today at Sodor to discuss the implications there. Bob Crow will issue a statement after the meeting.

Has anyone else heard any further news....is Emily, the oldest engine, down for compulsary redundancy.?...and will Pacers be forced on Tidmouth sheds?

The lines in the isle of Sodor will have to be electrified. Using coal fired engines is quite simply not acceptable with the reality of cliamte change. Trains on the isle can then go over to DOO.

No one can be forced into compulsory retirement anymore!

However, I can see that the inefficient steam engines will have to be replaced with more modern rolling stock. They are double manned for FFS! Get some 142's in and run them DDO.

Some of those stations need to be rationalised and those that are left will loose their station masters, ticket staff etc

Emily is a special one-off case as she is 115 years old now and has secretly been wanting this to happen and will be able to claim 173 years worth of free coal under the Sodor old-engine plan that was drawn up by Bob Crow

The Fat Controller was seen last week furtively leaving Newton Heath with pictures of Class 142 Pacers under his arm....saying these were plans for "Bouncy" castles. It is rumoured that a certain tram engine felt an affinity to these, thinking they were long-lost cousins:roll:

I can't help but think that turntables will be a thing of the past on Sodor. On a smiliar note, does anyone think that the Fat Controller might lose his operation to Northern under the "one franchise" idea? They do meet at Barrow after all!

Emily has now taken VOLUNTARY redundancy, but still has had all her benefits protected, due to Bob Crow reaching an agreement with the Fat Controller.

Postman Pat and Fireman Bob led a joint deputation to address the meeting of the locomotive firemen, who have expressed unhappiness with the DOO proposals and wish to retrain as postmen and firemen.

The Fat Controller has put forward detailed proposals for taking over the Northern and First TPE franchaises, subject to his keeping his top hat on if these are successful.
