The 'last' to do something on the railway

RIP to those Lincs area boxes that have shut. A corner of the network that had become truly special for it's signalling and traffic levels and that will never be the same.

I was on the last class 313 to and From North Woolwich in 2006 and on the first DLR from Woolwich Arsenal when that opened!

I can totally verify this "last" as one member of the train crew is a member/lurker of this very website!

I have the honour of being the last fare paying passenger out of Manchester Piccadilly, the last passenger into Crewe and then back out again, the last passenger into and out of Manchester Airport and the last passenger into Manchester Piccadilly on a Serco and Abellio operated Northern service!

You would have been welcome, BT... The guard was surprised there was not anybody else onboard especially for the last run in and out! He spent most of the time, apart from station calls and normal duties, sat talking to me - wait for my write up about it
