It's true that running windows on a macbook is different than on a pc laptop - it runs a lot faster.

The highest rated macbook pro has long been the fastest laptop for windows, good for a make who doesn't even optimise it for windows.

Also you stick in one driver cd for any mac and run one installer and all the drivers are loaded in one go, beat that Dell...

Should really get covered under home contents insurance.

Don't have any.
My mum rung up the people that do our contents insurance the other week.
The people had NO idea what she was on about, and no matter who she rung, they had no idea that they ever did contents insurance...
My mum was sat there with the paper work in her hand.

Anyway, Acers may be fine, but after seeing a relatively new one completely mess up for no reason, I'd rather not bother.

Remember Gizzy, Ubuntu isn't the only form of Linux, and if you don't like vista, you could always install XP onto the laptop...

Anyway, 40% does seem high but they're probably the people who leave it sitting in their car or who leave it unsecured on their desk. Bear in mind that home contents usually won't cover you outside the home.

iThink that an iMac is the way forward, it's a powerful, beautiful machine and is value for money too. Bootcamp is useful as well. Pacers are better than 455s too.

Riiiight. Anyone feel like trying to convice me to get a Windows laptop? I already prefer Windows as an OS anyway. I just can't find anything with battery life like the mac, or so portable....or with such great specs for that matter lol

You know the system, it's easy to use, it's fairly idiot-proof, most if not all software runs on Windows.

Why not? It's got a handle so it'd be quite easy to steal...

But who'd want it? i wouldn't want to be hauled up in court accused of stealing that monstrosity; I'd rather be shot on the spot.
