I wasn't looking for Ford.

I was actually thinking of Westbury to Barnham, when I said "the line splits in four directions close to this station", I was hoping this would be enough info, as you have the line to Bognor, Littlehampton, Horsham and Brighton, even though there is another station in between.

Sorry for misleading you.

That's ok, I was just puzzled as I thought maybe having another station before the junction meant it didn't count as close!!

I'm not sure if I can go or not seeing as I only sort of half got that?

I'll void the journey and make it open floor?

Ok nice one!

Here's my attempt:

Clue 1: The origin station is on the edge of the town it serves.
Clue 2: The destination station has one platform.
Clue 3: The journey is entirely within one county.
Clue 4: Both stations have fewer active platforms than they did in 1960.

Exeter St Davids - Exmouth, FGW 153

(Although saying that I don't think St Davids fulfills point 4)

Noope...

OK Clue 6: All lines traveled are used by one passenger operator only.

Don't give up!! Do people need a seventh clue?

Naa... OK seventh clue is that the one station passed through en route has more active platforms than either the origin or destination stations. Stressing active platforms is quite important when counting platforms at both the origin and destination stations.

In which case I will take the floor.

Clue 1: This Journey begins in a city with 3 Major Terminal Stations
Clue 2: This Journey is run by diesels
Clue 3: This Journey is completely under the Wires
Clue 4: This Journey Ends at a station with 2 through platforms.

Would it be Birmingham New Street to Penrith North Lakes on a class 221?

Actually, I think it might be Lockerbie rather than Penrith North Lakes.

The destination would have to be Manchester Picc, Glasgow Central, Stoke-on-Trent or Sandwell and Dudley then, and I'd probably say Manchester as my first guess.

This journey starts at a station commonly used for fare evasion.
This journey ends at a station served by HSTs.
This journey is usually run using Bombardier (or their previous companies which have been taken over by Bombardier) built trains (Although trains built by a different company can also turn up)
This journey passes through two junctions twice. It may or may not pass through more junctions than this.

I'm going to give clue 5 now as I can't guarantee my internet's not going to break down again - It's been off from about two o'clock this morning

5) There's only two trains daily that do this journey direct. However, there's two trains per hour from the origin station to a point where you can change for more frequent services to the destination.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
6) First Class accomodation is available on this train.

Astonishing how everyone just gave up on a quiz I excepted to get knocked for being too easy. It was Wellingborough to Corby.

I'd gotten a bit thrown by the county boundaries thing. It's not the sort of thing I tend to pay attention to. However, since I've still had no takers, it looks like I'm having to resort to using them

This journey passes through exactly three counties.

I Have no idea due to the fair evasion clue.

I'll suggest considering tricks that a fare evader would use on turning up at a barriered station without a ticket.

I'm not getting any takers here, am I

The answer was Mauldeth Road to Sheffield. Floor open

No one's taken the floor, so here goes.

This Journey Begins at a interchange with at least two types of Non-NR modes of transport.
This Journey is operated by DMU's
This Journey Ends at a station where you can catch a train to a station about 10 minutes walk from the Origin station
This Journey is Operated by a TOC which serves London.

Starting from Waterloo? (LU and River boat)
A 158 / 159?
Clapham Junction?
South West Trains?

Just a guess and I doubt it takes 10 minutes from Waterloo to Clapham Jct but oh we'll...

You have the Right TOC, but New Street is not a Starting Point
