Time for some tram action.

At 0648, we emerge from the metro and board a T1 line tram, before alighting at Sirkeci, the time now being 0700 this Saturday morning.

Confronted by a mass of grey concrete and greyer water; we head for the latter; crossing the road and boarding the 07:10 Eminonu - Uskudar Sehir Hatlari ferry.
After twenty minutes sipping cay; we shuffle off the ferry at Uskudar at 07:30 that self same Saturday morning

We walk over to the Kadiköy metro station, where we board Metro 4 in the Pendik direction. This departs at 09:33, and we leave just a few stops later, at 09:37, at Ünalan on the Saturday morning.

I think it's time for a trip to somewhere I don't think we've been yet...

We feel a need to enter a warzone - and we select Baghdad. We board Iraqi Airways flight 224 at 1415 and we land at Baghdad Intl. Airport, the time now being 1815 this Saturday evening.

As above - and how about a trip to Damascus next?

Not Damascus but another Middle Eastern city beginning with 'D'.

The only flight that departs within the 3 hour maximum allowance is that of FlyDubai 216 leaving at 1940 and taking us to the UAE and Dubai International Airport arriving 2305 on Saturday night.

Terminal 2 supposedly, that might dictate the next move? - What with the airport being so large.

As I understand things, the terminal doesn't matter

It's then another three hour wait looking at the tarmac in Dubai and a transfer to Terminal 3. From there, we board Emirates flight 203, departing Dubai in the wee hours of 0235 and arriving in the lights of New York - JFK at 0855 Sunday morning.

Let's take in a NY bus.

We watch the AirTrains for a bit. Wanting to pretend we're back home, we go to Kew Gardens on the 0955 Q10 bus. We alight at the intersection of Lefferts Bl /Cuthbert Rd, the time now being 1032 this Sunday morning.

Google Street View seems to show a very un-New York City suburban ambience around this part of Queens. You'd almost expect to see a Thomas Cook, some Estate Agents' shopfronts and a Waitrose around here.

We take the three minute walk to the LIRR Kew Gardens rail station.

To add another English touch, there's weekend engineering work and rail services are disrupted, but sticking to the normal LIRR timetable, we board Train 6026 departing at 1043 to Amityville arriving at 1131 Sunday morning.

Disappointingly my preferred move is only available Mon - Sat.
That is a bus to Hempstead Transit Center.

You are free to make whatever move you like of course but my bus move can be made on a Sunday from Massapequa Park LIRR station (The stop outside 'Sunrise Hwy + Park Bvld')

At 1138 we take Babylon 3107, one stop back towards Penn station. We arrive at Massapequa Park at 1141 on Sunday morning.

Thanks Springs Branch.

We have an excellent connection here. Making our way to the Long Island Rail Road station we don't have long to wait till...

...Our departure at 1313 on LIRR's Hempstead branch train number 6753. Deciding to complete the branch and arrive in a New York terminal which I believe we have hitherto not visited. So it is that we alight at Atlantic Terminal at 1407 on Sunday afternoon.

Good move ticking off this less well-known, but useful New York transportation hub.

We exit the rail terminal to 4th Avenue, where we board New York City Transit bus service B63 at 1424 to Fort Hamilton, 4th Avenue & 94th Street arriving at 1525 Sunday afternoon.

We walk to the nearby Subway station at Bay Ridge - 95th St.
This is the Southern terminus of the R line.

We ponder the route of this line and decide to go to Manhattan.

At 1535 we are under way and after a little more than half an hour we are indeed in our desired borough.
Thus we bail at the first stop for this train in Manhattan which is Whitehall St - South Ferry the time now is 1407 on Sunday afternoon.

We leave the subway station and enter the South Ferry ferry terminal. We take the 1430 sailing of the Staten Island Ferry to Staten Island, St George Terminal arriving at 1455 Sunday afternoon.

On to the Island borough's only railway line.

Staten Island Rail road (SIR) is therefore boarded at this sea - rail terminal.
Our train leaves at 1506 and we jump off at Pleasant Plains simply as we love the name. The time now is 1541. The day is Sunday. Is it just me or when saying Pleasant Plains does it sound like Pleasant Pains?!

Useful bus connections at Pleasant Plains are few and far between on Sundays. From Staten Island it's possible to get an express bus back to Manhattan on Sunday afternoon (service X1), but only via the Eltingville SIR station (of course the next move is entirely at discretion of the next player).

From Pleasant Plains we take the 1608 SIR train to Eltingville arriving at 1616 Sunday afternoon

The X1 to get us back into Manhattan is a very good idea.

Walking out the station and across the road to the stop at Richmond Avenue / Eltingville Boulevard. A X1 rolls up and we are on our way at 1634. We decide to take a Sunday stroll in Central Park.
So we stay aboard till the last stop. This is Cental Park South / 6th Avenue.
We really haven't thought this through as it is now 1745 and on a Sunday evening in November it's dark already.

Oh well, we'll just have to keep moving...

To the city centre we go.

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) sends us a SL1 service on the Silver Line route.
This leaves Terminal B at 2157 and we travel to South Station arriving at 2216 on Sunday night.

We can still keep going as the night progresses.

At the nearby bus stop of Massachusetts Ave @ Holyoke St we at the time of 2254 depart on a number 1 service and our destination is Dudley Station. We arrive at 2325 on Sunday night.
