Delta Airlines have an astonishing number of departures from Atlanta airport between 2300 and 2330 (how many runways do they have here?), but we're just too late for the last flight of the day.

After overnight at the airport, we leave on an early flight ......

Hello Denver. We start to get used to the high altitude as we make our way outside the terminal building to the bus stop named 'DIA West: Island #5'.
Here we board RTD's AA service leaving at 0750 and reaching our destination Union Station bus concourse at 0835 on Tuesday morning

Scheduled to open in April we are just too early to ride the A line new rail connection from Denver Union Station out to the airport.

What a pity, the daily Amtrak California Zephyr left Denver Union Station for the west coast less than an hour ago, and the eastbound train isn't due until this evening. So it's another day, another US Light Rail system .....

We walk across to the Union Station RTD Light Rail platforms and board the 0849 Line C train to I-25 - Broadway station, arriving 0902 Tuesday morning.

There's a handy cross-suburban bus route 35 that connects stations across three of Denver's radial light-rail lines. Unfortuately the RTD's on-line trip planner doesn't seem to know about it. So consulting the old-fashioned timetables .....

We board RTD bus 35 outside Southmoor Station at 0940 and travel to its terminus at Englewood Station arriving 0959 Tuesday morning.

An eight minute walk takes us to the Greyhound bus terminal at 1055 19th Street. Invoking the 3 hour rule in this game, we stock up on soft drinks and snacks for a long bus journey.

We take Greyhound's Schedule 1683 bus, leaving Denver at 1215, arriving 21¾ hours later in Los Angeles, CA (1716 E 7th St at Decatur St) at 0900 Wednesday morning.

I doff my hat sir, tot that move.

Staggering around quite unsure of even our name we find our way to the bus stop at 7th / Decatur. We steel ourselves for another bus journey as we are eager to explore this sprawling metropolis.

At 0911 we board Metro Local service number 18 to 5th/Spring arriving some 9 minutes later at 0920 on Tuesday morning.

We enter the nearby Pershing Square Metro Rail (=subway) station. We take a Metro Red Line train at 0937 to an iconic destination from a bygone era, Hollywood/Vine Station, arriving 0953 Tuesday morning.

We exit the station and cross the road admiring the famous stars on that famous sidewalk (sorry pavement, we've been in the US so long we are picking up the local lingo)

The stars continue up Vine Street and so do we coming to a halt at the bus stop at Vine\Hollywood , we of course having our eyes fixed on public transport infrastructure as well as the stars at our feet. Our stopping is because we have seen something that this traveller at least finds himself drawn to like a magnet.
That is a move to an airport and a ruddy big one at that.

So at 1015 we leave aboard LAX Flyaway's HW2LAX service to LAX Terminal 2 - Lower level shuttle stop arriving at 1145 onTuesday morning.

With this airports huge number of international destinations, might we leave the US? Of course next poster can do as they wish.

There are certainly lots of international long-haul flights, but departures are not evenly spaced through the day and midday seems a bit of a lull.
There is a JAL flight to Osaka at 1220 (for Shinkansen moves), but that's a bit too tight even for this fantasy game - especially as we need to walk from T2 to the International Terminal. So we choose:-

We enter the Schengen area and stick with KLM for a short flight to Stuttgart, namely KL1869 which leaves at 10:10. It arrives at 11:25 on Wednesday Morning.

Have just been trying to do a crossword puzzle with one of the answers being The Brandenburg Gate and thinking how I would very much like to see it. I can at least make do for now in heading to the German capital in this game.

Thankfully this is achievable because when we enter Stuttgart Hbf and glance up at the boards, we see Berlin writ large.

This also affords us our first long distance European rail journey for some time.

At 1251 we begin this journey on board ICE 598 and reach the nearest station for this service to the gate which is Berlin Hbf at 1825 on Wednesday evening.

Why not take a closer look at the Brandenburg Gate while we're here?

We transfer to the Hauptbahnhof U-Bahn station and take a Line U55 train at 1845, arriving a mere two minutes later at Brandenburger Tor at 1847 Wednesday evening.

We walk out of the station and across Pariser Platz to get some holiday snaps of the Brandenburg Gate, we've certainly come a long way to get here.

Back now to Brandenburger Tor and Northwards on a S2 line train at 1906 to Berlin Gesundbrunnen arriving at 1916 on Wednesday evening.

Can't possibly visit Berlin without a ride on one of the yellow BVG double-deck buses.

Outside Gesundbrunnen station we board a route 247 bus at 1934 to Leopoldplatz arriving 1945 Wednesday evening.

Seen as we are so close let's take a look at one of the world's more unusual parks. The disused Templehof Airport.

We head down into the U-Bahn station and leave on a U6 service at 2051. We have several stations to chose from and we opt to alight at U Paradestr four minutes later at 2055 on Wednesday night.

Wanting some fresh air, we walk the 850 metres between Paradestr and S+U Tempelhof. We then board the 2125 S45 train to Berlin-Schönefeld Flughafen, arriving at the airport at 2156 Wednesday night.

As we look at where to go we see a couple of flights leaving inside the next 24 minutes. Too little time alas.
Seems we have just one other flight available tonight and it is heading East.

So we're Russia bound aboard Aeroflot flight number 2317 leaving at very nearly the same time as that flight number, that is 2340 and we reach our destination of Sheremetyevo International, Moscow (SVO) at the early hour of 0405 on Thursday morning.

Moscow is a huge city with an extensive public transport system, and Google even promises an English-language journey planner for the Metro.
But this website refuses to load, so we say Пока to Russia and move on.....

Once again, we attempt to cause a temporal paradox and have both the International and UK versions meet each other. Since the UK version of us is in a suburb of Hull, we need a flightpath that goes over Hull. So, we look at the departures board, quickly check Flightradar to check flightpaths and board the 1045 easyJet flight 2687, departing Milan Malpensa at 1045 and arriving into Glasgow Abbotsinch Airport at 1220 Thursay afternoon.

Let's keep going North by boarding Icelandair flight 431 leaving Scotland at 1320 bound for Reykjavik, Keflavik where we arrive at 1540 on Thursday afternoon.

Whilst at Glasgow we begin to hear reports of strange goings on in the Hull suburb of Sculcoates. Great flashes of light and some are even claiming to have seen rips in the fabric of space and time.

Very nice touch DasLunatic, I didn't know Glasgow Airport's former name was Abbotsinch.
