One more tram tonight but it is the same tram we have just got off. So we call it a night and board the first tram of the day.

It's the 0427 and we take it to Place du Cirque arriving at 0441 on Wednesday morning

Never one to disappoint we step aboard a Paris bound TGV.

TGV 8802 leaving 0525 and alighting at Le Mans at 0651 on Wednesday morning

PS - Where can I find a website that gives station departures? What I mean is one were you give the station, the time and the day and you get all the departures available at that time.
Thought I had such an option on bahn.com but can't seem to find it nowadays. Was I dreaming?

In Le Mans we have the opportunity to sample another of France's modern urban tramways. Outside the station, we board the SETRAM line T1, heading for Le Mans - Université. We leave at 0700 and arrive at the République stop at 0705 Wednesday morning.

Try searching DB Departures on Google and one of the results should be a online departures board on bahn.de. You can also do it with the DB Navigator App. This allows you to filter by Train type as well.

We alight and let the tram return back up the line. Another tram is not far behind so we hurry to catch a glimpse of the famous Le Mans racetrack and grab some photos for our album.

All too soon we are away again at 0747 and we journey along line 1 to Gares arriving 0805 Wednesday morning

We feel an urge for Belgian beer, so we take the 1918 IC121 towards Liege. Guillemins station, despite its magnificent architecture, seems a bit windswept, so we continue to Liege Palais which, although a bit grotty, is in the city centre, arriving 2209 on Wednesday evening.

Feeling a little unwell, we board IC 2426 at 0442 to Brussels Midi arriving there 0657 on Thursday morning

After hearing about a new extension to New York's metro system, we feel it's only right to try it out. So we board United flight 56 to New York - John F Kennedy, departing Paris at 0945 and arriving into the States at 1215 Thursday afternoon.

Hello again North America :D

A little research tells us that United Airlines fly in and out of Terminal 7 (well till next month at any rate)
Also that the Airtrain we want leaves every 10 minutes leaving at xxx6.
So we allow for the size of even this one terminal and board the 1246 Airtrain to Howard Beach arriving there at 1257 on Thursday afternoon

One step closer to the 7 Extension

I'm sure there's an easier way to do this but never mind.

We take an E line train at 1409 and travel to Court Square arriving at 1417 on Thursday afternoon

Wanted to give DasLunatic the honour of taking us along the 7 line extension

It's a quick transfer to the high level platforms and the 7 Local service. We take this train all the way to its new (10 day old) terminus of 34 St - 11 Av, departing at 1423 and arriving at 1438 Thursday afternoon.

We pop up to the surface and go and take a look at the Hudson Yards, with lots of cars awaiting the rush hour.
We also sneak a peek at the river of the same name.
Then it's back below and some more subway action.

We take a 7 line train at 1456 to 61st - Woodside Station 7/LIRR arriving 1517 on a Thursday afternoon

There appears to be no other transport around, so we continue up Long Island by boarding the next eastbound train: the 1853 "Ronkonkoma" service to Greenpoint, arriving there at 2017 Thursday night.

We are just across from the ferry terminal here.
The ferry service leaves every 15 to 20 minutes at this hour of the day.
So we'll board our first ferry in quite a while at 2035 and take the 15 minute crossing to Shelter Island docking at 2050 on Thursday evening

Nice as it may be, there's not much going on at this end of Long Island in the late evening, and certainly no onward transit connections, so we re-board the ferry for our last opportunity to get back into NYC tonight.

Departing Shelter Island at 2100, we arrive at Greenport at 2115 Thursday evening.

No public transport across Shelter Island at all, which is a shame.

Back on the mainland we board the 2139 LIRR service to Ronkonkoma arriving at 2302 on Thursday night

Very handy at this hour of the day to be heading into NYC, the city never sleeps

Having checked airline departures from T4 in the early hours and decided against the handful of Caribbean, central & south American destinations on offer, we'll remain a bit longer in the USA.

We board the 0058 Airtrain departure from Terminal 4 to Howard Beach Subway station, arriving 0113 Friday morning.

We take an A train at 0121 to Broad Channel arriving at 0128 on Friday morning
