The next move is to get the 08:00 to Dublin (Busáras), arriving at 11:50 on Thursday afternoon, after travelling all day, with only a short comfort break from 09:30 for 5 minutes at Longford Station.

We take the 1230 707 service from Busaras arriving at Cork (Parnell Place) at 1530 on Thursday afternoon. This could be two services running to identical times, operated by both Bus Eireann and GOBE, but it is probably the same bus. Google Maps is confusing. The end result is the same.

Google Maps

EDIT: Just twigged that GOBE is probably GO Bus Eireann.

Although this is a terminus and we could return on the same train, we elect to stay and take a look around.

We are back at the station where we board the 1900 Irish Rail service.
This we take to Carrigaloe arriving at 1906 on Thursday evening.

Can't seem to find a way out except by train, so we take the Irish Rail 1936 service to Little Island on Thursday evening.

At least that puts us on a line with another route.

Our arrival time into Little Island is 1946.

Ditching the train we walk to the bus stop of Little Island (Rail Station jctn).

Buses are not all that frequent here even though we are close to the city of Cork.
It is 2045 before a bus turns up. Run by Bus Èireann this number 260 takes us to Cork (Parnell Place) arriving in at 2100 on Thursday night.

There was the Carrigaloe ferry. Wondered if anyone would spot it. Nearly missed it myself.

I did but it seemed too far to walk. Will try to post a move tomorrow if nobody gets in before.

Then walk the 0.3 miles to Cork (Parnell Place) and get the 00:05 Bus Èireann service 226A to Bull McCabe's Pub (Airport Road Cork), arriving at 00:17 Friday morning.

At least we can end up at a pub (another one)

Well that seems to be us for the night. We lodge in the pub, and fill up with Guinness.

The next bus leaves at 05:17 in the morning. The Bus Èireann 226A is the only service in these parts, so that is the bus we take. We continue to Cork Airport, arriving at 05:25 on this fine Friday morning.

...and now for some long-distance coach travel. Rather surprisingly, Torremolinas is a stop on the route from Marbella to Madrid, so we walk the 900m up the road to the bus station and await our coach to the capital. At 12:20, the coach duly picks us up and a few hours later, we are booted off outside the Estación sur de Autobuses, the time now being 19:10 this Friday evening.

We pop down the road to the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (http://ca2m.org/es/); which is not only free; but open in the evening when most people would like to visit it. We gaze upon Carl Andre's 1980 work "2 (30 AL), Seattle"; housed herein; which makes us get a faint feeling of calm whilst looking at the aluminium blocks so perfectly welded together row on row; like we wish our souls could be. We sigh plaintively; and wonder why British suburbs aren't like this; whilst walking in the warm air with free town Wifi; signs embedded in the streets telling us where everything is so we don't have to walk around looking at our phones; and calamari sandwiches wherever you look. What a life it is we lead where we can suck this in just for a minute; free of the bitterness and ennui that lies behind us; and resolve to ever live the travelling life to escape it.
Oh sorry; back to bus timetables
We head back to the station; ducking to avoid a giant gold statue of Mostoles' most famous son; Iker Casillas; scowling down at us in all his chinny benevolence; and board the 535 interurbano at 20:40; alighting at Alcorcón Central at 20:55 this Friday evening

I've been to the Bernabeu, but wanting to visit some other Spanish League grounds, we take the 2100 Metro line 12 to Getafe Central arriving 2142 on Friday night, though it's probably a bit too late for a stadium tour - and I think they were relegated last season.

Google Maps

EDIT: They were, but they're in third place in a promotion position with four games to go. Viva Getafe!

We take a train on the C4 line of the Cercanías Madrid which leaves at 2154 and go to Madrid Chamartín arriving there at 2225 on Friday night.

Remarkable they can get anywhere near La Liga having to compete with Real and Atlético. Also the 'B' sides of the top clubs as well I believe in Spain.
