The Humber Flyer bus route change

The Humber Flyer will stop serving Humberside International airport on the 5th of January. This is because of roadworks at the bridge over the mainline nearby. Ulceby and Barrow will be served instead.
The route recently got new special livery buses and an extra service for Grimsby colleges.

For members wondering what the Humber Flyer is, it's the route between Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Humberside Airport, Barton and Hull.

Said works at the bridge have seen a weight restriction implemented, hence the diversion for buses - it'll be interesting to see if this becomes a permanent thing though, as I must admit to having never seen anyone get on or off at the airport on the occasions I've used the service - and lets be honest, Humberside Airport isn't exactly a busy or large airport!

The College Flyer service isn't directly affected I don't believe, as it already leaves the route at Kirmington and goes direct to Barton if I remember correctly.

Humberside Airport has been growing alot recently. A new hotel and a search and rescue base are to be built there soon. Around 300,000 use it a year for holidays and others work there. I've seen quite a few people get off there, but that must vary greatly.

The Barrow route is served by the 450/5 from Brigg to Barton to Immingham to Grimsby. And is not as fast a route as the A15 dual carriageway. Airports need connections to servive.

I do wonder how people from Scunthorpe get to the airport. I wonder why the 90 old 909 , the new 909, I know its confusing.

Scunthorpe to Barton on the Humber Fastcat (350) then change onto the Humber Flyer which goes to Barton for last few years now.

The 909 ran from Sheffield to Doncaster to Scunthorpe to Humberside Airport to Grimsby as far as I remember it went down the fast roads.
I think the Humber Flyer stopped using the A180 in 2006.

There's a few timetables for the 909 on the SY-Transport website;

At most times, the service was divided between Hull and Grimsby (plus Cleethorpes), requiring changes at Humberside Airport for one destination or the other. The last instance was a revival between Scunthorpe and Doncaster only - later extended on to Brigg, but killed off fairly quickly.

I remember once reading a comprehensive history - but I can't find it anywhere!
