I've only recently started watching this series, but god. I do have to wonder how this place actually remains in business! It's almost starting to make Faulty Towers / Farty Owels looks like a reasonable place to stay! :o

Has anyone else been catching this series?

I want to go down there and bang their heads together. They know nothing about customer service. It has actually gone bust mainly because Mark surrounded himself with idiots like Christian and the woman who gave herself the title of 'Reservations Manager' but actually does sweet fanny adams!

Mark means well but you can see why he is self employed. Who else would have him?!

I enjoyed the first series and the current one , although it's obviously somewhat stage managed - more entertainment than documentary

When I looked on Trip Advisor this led to the fact Mark and the rest of the featured staff are no longer there - at least not permanently. Apparently the demise will feature later in the series. You could see it on the horizon.

The Grosvenor was also featured on Inside Out South west a couple of months back, as one of Devon's worst hotels for fire safety.

On a lighter note, I do enjoy the series, always a good laugh!

I always thought it was one of these scripted mockumentaries. Like come fly with me, or the one with Warwick Davis.

Along with family, I watched some of the first series, but only because we stayed at the Grosvenor probably about 10 years ago (well before Mark and the clan came in to run it)

It may not surprise you to learn that our over-riding memories of the hotel were of mismanagement (double booking rooms, advertised services not being available, to name but a few)...it would seem some things will never change!
